Dr. Joseph J. Calabro
is the Founder, President, and CEO of Physicians' Practice Enhancement (PPE), a Medical Practice Management Group. He is Chairman and Associate Professor of the Department of Emergency Medicine of Seton Hall University School of Graduate Medical Education and has longstanding backgrounds in academic emergency medicine and research.
He is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed an emergency medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center (Tacoma , Washington ). Dr. Calabro also completed a flexible internship at Tripler Army Medical Center (Honolulu , Hawaii ) and completed aviation medicine specialty training (flight surgeon) (Fort Rucker , Alabama ).
Dr. Calabro is board certified in emergency medicine and the subspecialty EMS. He has been involved in emergency medicine residency training for over fifteen years having founded and served as Residency Program Director of two emergency medicine residency programs (Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Saint Michael's Medical Center). In addition, Dr. Calabro has held numerous positions of leadership for various boards of the American College of Emergency Physicians, as well as the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and was President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
He is presently Vice President of the Northeastern Osteopathic Medical Education Network (NEOMEN) at the University of New England and is also an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM). Dr. Calabro is a reviewer for numerous emergency medicine journals and has been involved in many research trials and projects. Additionally, Dr. Calabro has published numerous articles and chapters on Emergency Medicine topics and is a nationally known figure in Emergency Medicine.
